What is Radiesse®?
Do you have deepening lines and folds on your face, specifically around your nose and mouth, or a loss of fullness to your cheekbones? Radiesse® can help give you a more youthful appearance.
What is Radiesse®?
A. Radiesse® is a dermal filler that temporarily smooths moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth), marionette lines (the lines that run from the corners of your mouth to your chin), and lifts the downturned corners of the mouth. It can also be used to enhance cheekbones, to hide jowls, and to fill in deep glabellar frown lines (“elevens”).
Areas Where Radiesse® is Not Recommended®?
A. Radiesse® is not for the lips, very fine lines, or eye tear troughs. Dr. Singer provides other filler options targeted for these areas of the face.
How Does Radiesse® Work?
A. Radiesse, over time, helps the body produce collagen in the injected sites.
What is the Process?
A: Dr. Singer will first meet with you in a pre-treatment consultation (held the same day as your injectable appointment) to determine your options and whether you are a good candidate for treatment. Once approved, Dr. Singer will apply a numbing agent, followed by injecting the Radiesse® into targeted areas on the face.
Does it Hurt?
A: You may experience mild discomfort both during the injection and for several days after treatment. Dr. Singer uses a topical numbing cream applied 20 minutes before injection, and lidocaine to minimize discomfort during treatment.
Should I Expect Swelling and Bruising, and if So, How Long Will These Last?
A: You will experience mild swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness, and/or discomfort after the procedure. This usually resolves in one week, though can last up to two weeks. Depending on your schedule, it is recommended to plan your Radiesse® treatment at least two weeks prior to attending an important event to allow time for the bruising to resolve. It is recommended that you avoid taking any blood thinners or aspirin for three days prior to the treatment to reduce bruising. Dr. Singer recommends the use of ice packs for up to two days after the procedure to help reduce swelling and bruising.
When Will I See Results?
A: You will see immediate results with Radiesse®. Your skin will appear smoother and plumped.
How Long Do the Effects Last?
A: Dr. Singer’s patients find that results usually last up to a year depending upon the injection site. Individual results will vary by patient.
