Chin Augmentation is a procedure designed to extend and round the chin. It is frequently done using an implant. The incision is made either inside the mouth or under the chin. Then an area is prepared in front of the chin bone where the implant will be inserted. The implants used for these are made from a firm silicone which, once inserted, may be attached to the chin.
This procedure can be done in combination with other procedures where appropriate. In addition, bite problems can be corrected during this procedure, if performed with bone advancement, which is an alternate approach.
