Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Do your ears protrude farther than you want from the sides of your head? Ready for ears that lie flat against your head?

Ear pinning will have them appearing normal again.

Ear pinning, or more technically, Otoplasty, is a procedure whose purpose is to create ears with normal folds and normal protrusion. It’s accomplished by making incisions on the back of the ear. The cartilage is weakened so it lies flat, and sometimes underlying cartilage is removed from within the ear. At that point the cartilage is reshaped which brings the ear back closer to the head. When done, the incision on the back of the ear is sutured closed. This procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with a short recovery period.
